Pendeen Plastic Gig Event
For a number of years Pendeen gig club has held a plastic gig event from Sandy Cove in Newlyn, by kind permission of the Newlyn Harbour Commissioners.
Traditionally held in March/April when the majority of the wooden racing gigs have been transported over to the Scillies for the world championships held in May. Its a fun day with races for all age groups, with probably the last chance for competitive rowing before the mighty Isles of Scilly.
This year, 6th April 2013, we were lucky with some fantastic weather and lots of clubs enjoying a great days racing & socialising, from juniors to seniors everyone had a lovely day.
I guess you could call it the "plastic" world championships. 
For the past 3 years, 2011, 2012 & 2013, the winners have been Zennor, if you think you can beat Zennor come along and give it a go!

2014
On Saturday 12th April we held our annual plastic gig event @ Sandy Cove. This years event was the biggest ever with 14 clubs in attendance. The weather was overcast but dry with a cool breeze. The racing conditions were good and a great day was had by all, we even had a new event winner!!!

2015
This year we held our biggest event ever, with over 17 clubs present on the 11th April we had lovely weather and enjoyed good racing which brought many positive comments from all the clubs present.
