Pendeen Plastic Gig Event

For the past three years Pendeen gig club has held a plastic gig event from Sandy Cove in Newlyn, by kind permission of the Newlyn Harbour Commissioners.

Traditionally held in March/April when the majority of the wooden racing gigs have been transported over to the Scillies for the world championships held in May. Its a fun day with races for all age groups, with probably the last chance for competitive rowing before the mighty Isles of Scilly.

This year, 6th April 2013, we were lucky with some fantastic weather and lots of clubs enjoying a great days racing & socialising, from juniors to seniors everyone had a lovely day.

I guess you could call it the "plastic" world championships. Laughing

For the past 3 years, 2011, 2012 & 2013, the winners have been Zennor, if you think you can beat Zennor come along and give it a go!
